Passion Improve to 5-0 with Great Team Performance

The Passion traveled to Columbus Saturday Night to begin the first of 3 road games over the next three weeks against the Comets.

The Passion opened up the scoring tonight in Columbus on a 10 yard run by Kia Foster.  Columbus answered with a rushing touchdown and then the Passion responded with 29 unanswered points to end the 1st Half.  After the Foster Touchdown run, the Passion scored on a 63 yard pass from Montgomery to Baker and three touchdown passes from Montgomery to Cozzo (50, 75 and 5 yards). The Passion led at the half 36-8.

The Passion added a few more touchdowns in the 2nd half on a 14 yard pass from Montgomery to Baker, a 12 yard pass from Montgomery to Mularski and a 12 yard pass from Montgomery to Rodriguez. The Passion won 56-8.

Offensive leaders tonight were Ebony Montgomery who threw for 451 yards and 7 touchdowns.  Arielle Smith added 31 yards on the ground and Kia Foster added a rushing touchdown. Krystal Cozzo and Angela Baker combined for 12 receptions, 359 receiving yards and  5 touchdowns.

It was a big night for the defense front four of Niedermeyer, Zubovic, Cross, and Edmunds, Linebackers Ramsey , Conner, Smith, Ionta , and Tia Montgomery also made key plays to hold the Columbus offense to 8.   The Secondary play of Ehrgood, Cozzo, Baker, Meister and DiCicco did not let the Columbus Comets get anything going in the air.

Up Next, the Passion (5-0) travel to Toledo, Ohio next Saturday May 19 to take on Thee Reign.
