Passion Improve to 4-0 with Victory over Detroit

The Passion closed out their 3 game home-stand with a great all-around performance from the Offense, Defense and Special Teams.

Pittsburgh opened up the scoring tonight on a 24 yard pass from Horton to Baker early in the 1st Quarter.  The Passion added scores on a 5 yard run by Foster, 2 yard run by Horton, an 18 yard pass from Horton to Baker and a 1 yard run by Smith and the Passion led 34-0 at the Half.

The Passion opened up the scoring in the 2nd half on back to back TD Runs by O’Neil (1 and 44 yards).  Montgomery also added two touchdowns on the ground (1 and 29 yards). Detroit added a rushing touchdown and the Passion won 59-7

Offensive leaders tonight were Lisa Horton who threw for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air and added 1 on the ground.  Kia Foster ran for 80 yards and a Touchdown and Gabrielle O’Neal ran for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns. Angela Baker had 80 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.

It was an all around great defensive effort that started with the defensive line of Niedermeyer, Simeone, Zubovic, Edmunds and linebackers Daman, Ramsey and Montgomery.  They kept the Detroit Quarterback under pressure all night and held the Dark Angels running game in check. Our Secondary added 3 interceptions by Baker, Ehrgood (1st of Career) and Spencer (1st of Career).

Up Next, the Passion play their first of three straight games on the road next Saturday May 12 in Columbus, Ohio against the Columbus Comets.
