Passion Defeat Baltimore 34-0 Saturday Night at California University of Pennsylvania

The Passion opened up the scoring Saturday night at California University of Pennsylvania when Angela Baker threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Ellie Mularski. Arielle Smith ran it in from 31 yards out on the next drive. Baker then found Krystal Cozzo on 15-yard and 10-yard touchdown passes. On the final play of the 1st half, the Passion successfully ran a Hook & Ladder when Baker completed a 13-yard pass to Jana Meister who then tossed it back to Devon Conner who ran it 26 yards for a touchdown.

The Passion had the 34-0 lead at the half and that would be the final score after both defenses kept the offenses off the scoreboard in the 2nd half as the Passion recorded a shutout in back to back weeks and their 49th shutout in team history.

Angela Baker threw for 165 yards and 4 touchdowns giving her 11 touchdown passes on the season. Arielle Smith ran for 48 yards and her first touchdown of the season. Krystal Cozzo, Ellie Mularski and Devon Conner combined for 11 receptions for 132 yards and 4 touchdowns. Cozzo now has 6 receiving touchdowns and Mularski has 4 touchdowns on the season.

The defense never let the Baltimore Nighthawks get anything going through the air and on the ground and was steller all night. Whether it was, Rebecca Ehrgood and Tenisha Spencer combining for 4 interceptions, the three by Spencer were a career high and Ehrgood also preserving the shutout knocking away a pass in the endzone in the final minute. Kaitlain Niedermeyer and Hannah Daman led the way up front combining for 16 tackles and 4 tackles for loss.

It was complete defensive team effort from everyone including, but not limited to, Kim Zubovic, Diamond Rodriguez, Julie Ionta, Ashley DiCicco, Kellie Bell, Amanda Coles, Sam Simeone and Lizz Costanzo.

The Passion are 3-1 and travel to Cleveland Saturday May 11 to take on the Fusion.
