Passion ​Rush their way to 2-0 with Victory over Baltimore

The Passion set a team record with 358 rushing yards in a single game. The scoring started early with a Gabby​ O’Neil 46 yard touchdown run to put the Passion up 8-0. Kia Foster added a 33 yard run to make it 14-3 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Touchdowns in the 2nd Quarter were an O’Neil 76 yard punt return, 14 yard pass from ​Janice ​Masters to Lisa ​Horton, 1 yard run by O’Neil, 2 yard run by Foster and a 9 yard pass from Masters to Horton. The Passion led 50-3 at the Half.

The Passion added 2 more touchdowns on a 71 yard kickoff return by O’Neil and a 23 yard run by Hieb. The Final Score was Passion 65-17.

Offensive leaders tonight were running backs Foster rushing for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns and O’Neil with 70 yards and two touchdowns. ​ Masters threw 2 touchdowns, Horton and Angela Baker combined for 6 receptions, 95 yards and 2 touchdowns. ​The offensive line of Niedermeyer, Ferragonio, Sullivan, Simeone and Zubovic paved the way.​

The defense was led by Hannah Daman with 8 tackles (2 for losses), Kim Beaver with 7 tackles (1 for loss) and Chelsea Zahn ​with​ 4 (2 for loss) and 2 sack​s. The defensive line ​of Niedermeyer, Zubovic, Drieschalick, Montgomery and Zahn ​​kept incredible pressure all game. ​

On Special Teams O’Neil became the 1st Passion player to return a punt and kick return for touchdowns in the same game. Rebecca Ehrgood, Santana Ramsey and Courtney Bender led the way on Kickoffs to help pin Baltimore deep to start their drives.

The Passion (2-0) return to action next week (April 15) against the Cleveland Fusion at Joe P. DeMichela Stadium at 7 pm.
